IIU | BRANDON OFFICERS INVESTIGATED AFTER PRISONER INJURED

Brandon Police Service (BPS) have referred a case to the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) after a prisoner in their custody was injured on September 1o, 2016.

BPS said in a news release that an officer was escorting an intoxicated man to the Brandon Correctional Centre and during the ride, the man hit his head on the interior of the car, which caused a small cut over his left eye.

IIU investigates all serious incidents involving police officers in Manitoba, whether occurring on or off duty.

The Brandon Police Service say that the officers involved remain on active duty pending the investigation.
