Winnipeg Man Arrested Following Stabbing Incident in Selkirk

On April 21, 2024, at approximately 9:25 pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing incident. The victim, a 55-year-old male, was rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed that the victim was in the company of two other adults when an altercation ensued with one of the individuals, resulting in the stabbing. The victim remains in the hospital, recovering from his injuries.

A week later, on April 28, 2024, Selkirk RCMP made an arrest in connection with the incident. Darien Williams, a 30-year-old man from Winnipeg, was taken into custody. Williams has been charged with a number of offences, including Aggravated Assault, Assault, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and four counts of Failure to Comply.

Williams has been remanded into custody as the investigation continues. The Selkirk RCMP is urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
