Police investigate after person hit by train

Winnipeg Police Service and CN Police are investigating after a 16-year-old male was struck by a train on Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2024.

The incident happened near Bison Drive and Pembina Highway. Bison Drive was closed while the investigation was underway as the involved train was blocking the crossing.

Members of the WPS Forensics Unit were on scene collecting evidence.

The teen was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable

Winnipeg Police remind people to exercise extreme caution when they are near active rail lines.

The investigation continues.
