478 new cases of COVID-19 and eight additional deaths reported Monday

478 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified since Friday: 163 cases on Saturday, Dec. 11; 163 cases Sunday, Dec 12; and 152 cases today. Public health officials report that eight more people died from the virus over the weekend

The current provincial COVID-19 test positivity rate is 5.7 per cent.

Of the cases identified in the province today, 64 are people who are not fully vaccinated

There are 1,700 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. 142 people are in hospital due to COVID-19 including 34 patients being treated in ICU.

There are no additional cases of the Omicron variant identified in Manitoba. Our current total number of cases remains at five.

2,510 lab tests were taken yesterday. That brings the total number of COVID-19 tests completed in the province since February 2020 to 1,211,614

The total number of people who died from the virus in Manitoba is 1,353.

An outbreak has been declared at Ecole Assiniboine, grade 5 class, in Winnipeg.
