Winnipeg Police Service Festive Checkstop Program was out in force on Saturday as officers set up a number of check stops throughout the city over the course of the night.
The program is designed to identify drivers who may have had too much alcohol or drugs before getting behind the wheel. In week one of the program officers stopped 758 drivers and conducted 99 breath tests. 9 people failed and were charged and four people blew warnings.
The check stop program runs until the new year.
