The Manitoba government is rolling out proposed green-thumb changes to the Liquor, Gaming, and Cannabis Control Act that would make it legal for anyone aged 19 and over to grow up to four cannabis plants per residence.
The change would align Manitoba’s rules with federal guidelines, saying goodbye to the old ban on growing your own stash.
Justice Minister Matt Wiebe said the revisions would allow people to enjoy homegrown weed safely and responsibly, and support efforts to keep youth safe and cannabis out of their reach.
The proposed changes would allow people to grow four plants per household.
The change was promised by the NDP in the last election.
