Multiple impaired drivers caught by Mounties Friday night

RCMP in Manitoba has apprehended five impaired drivers and they did it in under six hours Friday night September 30, 2017.

Police say that officers on patrol from various detachments in the province were triggered to the impaired drivers because they noticed diminished driving skills. Things like speeding, improper turns, improper use of signals and careless driving were all indicators that the driver may not be operating with full faculties.

It is an offence to operate a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level over 80 mg%. Police say that all five drivers had levels that exceeded that number and are facing charges and fines.

“We are committed to eliminating impaired driving and the tragedies that are all too often associated with this high-risk driving behaviour and we encourage anyone who observes this dangerous behaviour to please contact the police,” said Manaigre.
