Fatal Collision on Highway 11: One Dead, One Severely Injured

On May 14, 2024, at approximately 4:40 pm, a tragic two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 11 near Provincial Road 307, as reported by the Whitemouth RCMP. The collision involved a pickup truck and a car, both found in the northbound lane of Highway 11.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the pickup truck, initially traveling southbound on Highway 11, veered into the northbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the car traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car, a 30-year-old female from the RM of Lac du Bonnet, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 45-year-old male driver of the pickup truck, a resident of Tyndall, sustained life-threatening injuries. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative Team have been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. Our thoughts are with the families affected by this tragic incident.
