La Salle thefts have RCMP reminding people to lock vehicles

RCMP in Headingley are investigating a number of vehicle break-ins as well as a stolen vehicle from the La Salle area. La Salle is a community about 30 kilometres west of Winnipeg.

Police say they began getting reports on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Many of the vehicles, including the stolen vehicle, were left unlocked and many of them had the keys inside.

“I can’t stress enough the importance of locking your vehicle and removing any valuables from it, thieves will always look for the easiest target,” said Sgt. Paul Manaigre of the Manitoba RCMP. “You need to remain vigilant when it comes to securing your home and your vehicles.”

Items taken from the vehicles included bank cards, sunglasses, garage door openers, tools, clothing, and cash.
