Winnipeg Police have closed St. Anne’s Road between Bank Street and Fermor Avenue as they investigate a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle.
It happened around 8:30 this morning.
An 8 year old boy was crossing in the crosswalk at Varennes Ave. when he was struck. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but later died of his injuries.
Police say that the driver of the vehicle that struck the boy remained on scene.
Police have notified the boy’s family and schools in the area.
