A 22-year-old male is facing a number of drug and property charges after he unknowingly sold crack cocaine to an undercover Winnipeg Police officer on Sunday, February 11, 2018.
When officers tried to arrest the man the next day he locked himself in his vehicle. Eventually officers removed him and placed him under arrest.
A search warrant was executed on a residence in the 300 block of Colony Street and a number of items were seized including:
- 2198 1/4 gram pieces of crack cocaine individually wrapped in tin foil. Street value of approx. $88,000
- 1 ounce of powder cocaine. Street value of $2,000
- $9500 cash in proceeds of crime
- 4 grams of marihuana. Street value of $40
- Scales and packaging materials
- 2011 Land Rover LR2
Emmanuel UMARU from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and Traffic in Scheduled Substance-Cocaine X2
He remains in custody.
When police raided the Colony Street address a 20-year-old female was inside. She is facing trafficking and property related charges for her alleged involvement and was released on a promise to Appear.
