Police arrest several suspects in Hossein Lotfi homicide

As News 4 told you previously, Winnipeg Police were involved in a homicide investigation after the body of 77-year-old Hossein Lotfi had been found in his home.

Police had gone to the home on January 9th of this year after his vehicle was stopped in the area of St. Anne’s Road and Fermor Avenue. Police said at the time that suspicious circumstances surrounding the traffic stop led officers to Hossein’s home on Manila Road.

When officers arrived at the home they noticed that a recent fire had occurred. A further search of the area led police to discover the body of the victim.

As homicide detectives looked into the death they determined that Lotfi had been socializing with two people at his home on January 5, 2018. At some point a physical altercation occurred. The victim was left incapacitated and the two people left in Lotfi’s car.

The next night the suspects returned to Lotfi’s home, this time with three other people and proceeded to steal a number of items. A fire was then set to cover their tracks.
