Heavy snow, rain and strong winds expected this weekend

Get ready for some wet weather in Winnipeg this weekend. Environment Canada is calling for another Colorado low to swoop into southern Manitoba and bring with it snow, rain and strong winds.

The national forecaster issued Special Weather Statements for central and southern Manitoba including the City of Winnipeg on Thursday, April 21, 2022.

The system is expected to bring heavy snow coupled with instances of freezing rain through the Parklands and Interlake will total accumulations between 25-50 cm.

Winnipeg and areas east of the city will likely see rain over the weekend although periods of snow and freezing rain are possible.

The storm is expected to move into Ontario on Monday.
