IKEA worker tests positive for COVID-19, store closed for deep cleaning

IKEA Winnipeg announced that one of their employees tested positive for COVID-19 and as a result, the store is temporarily closed.

The company said that they were notified of the test result on Saturday, August 29, 2020, and immediately closed the store in order to have it deep cleaned.

“The safety of IKEA co-workers and customers is our top priority and we are taking extensive precautionary measures to reduce the risk of further exposure, always following the guidelines of Manitoba Public Health,” the company stated on their website.

The retailer said that they are supporting their co-worker and are making sure they have everything they need for their recovery.

“We will re-open the store to customers and co-workers once the sanitization process is complete,” said IKEA.
