On October 18, 2024, a 42-year-old male from Winnipeg was arrested and charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm related to an incident at an establishment in the 400 block
of Main Street.
The incident occurred on August 30, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., when an 18-year-old
female patron, who was smoking on the patio, was confronted by security staff and advised that
smoking was prohibited. The verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the
female falling to the ground. While on the ground, she was assaulted by the security member, rendering her unconscious.
She subsequently required medical treatment for her injuries.
The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and obtained video surveillance of the incident.
The 42-year-old male was released on an Undertaking.
