Police watch drug deal go down and arrest one man for drug trafficking offences

A 20-year-old male is facing drug trafficking charges after police spotted in allegedly involved in a drug deal on Monday morning, December 12, 2022.

Police say officers observed two males involved in what they believed was a close contact drug deal behind a St. Mary’s Road business.

One of the males involved drove off before officers could identify his vehicle. The other suspect got into a waiting vehicle and then exited while placing something in the back seat.

Police took the male into custody and seized a number of items from the rear of the vehicle he had exited including:

  • 20 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $2,000)
  • 30 Percocet pills (estimated street value of $150)
  • $9,500 Canadian currency

The accused was charged for his alleged involvement and then released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code
