COVID-19 claims the life of one more Manitoban, 5 new cases identified

Manitoba Provincial Health announced that a 76-year-old male in the Southern Health region has died from COVID-19. He was not in hospital at the time of his death and this is a new case not previously reported. This brings the total number of people who have died from the virus in the province to eight.

As of 9:30 am Tuesday, July 28, 2020 five new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Manitoba. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases is 405.

The cases are broken down from the following health regions. Two new cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region, one new case in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region, one new case in the Winnipeg health region; and, one new case in the Prairie Mountain Health region.

There are currently 78 active cases of the virus in Manitoba with 319 people listed as recovered.

There are currently 3 people being treated in hospital for COVID-19, two of those are currently in intensive care.

735 laboratory tests were performed on Monday, July 27, 2020. The total number of tests completed since early February is 85,702.
