Cases of COVID-19 still increasing in Manitoba

Manitoba Public Health announced four new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, as of 9:30 am. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases stands at 562.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 1.27 per cent.

Three of the new cases are in the Prairie Mountain Health region, a female in her 20s and two males in their 30s. One new case in the Winnipeg Health region, a male in his 20s.

There are currently 194 active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 360 people listed as recovered.

Five people are being treated in hospital of which three are in intensive care.

The total number of deaths in Manitoba related to COVID-19 remains at eight.

1,059 laboratory tests were completed on Monday. According to Manitoba Public Health the total number of completed tests since early February to 104,841.

Manitoba Public Health also updated information regarding the August 1, 2020,possible exposure at the Tim Hortons in Brandon on Highway 1 at 18th Street. Officials now say that Aug 3 and Aug 4 are also possible exposure dates at that location.
