Hot, humid weather on the way for Tuesday and Wednesday

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement on Monday June 15, 2020.

The national forecaster says that hot, humid weather is in store for Winnipeg and most of southern Manitoba as a warm front pushes into the region

Temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be above 30c with humid reading in the mid to upper 30s

With the extreme heat thunderstorms could also develop over the next few days. Some go the thunderstorms will likely be severe with a variety of threats.

The humidity will support heavy rainfall says Environment Canada “Areas in southeastern Manitoba affected by recent heavy rains may see more torrential rainfall; on Wednesday, the region could see narrow bands of training thunderstorms resulting in significant rainfall accumulation.”

Wednesday night a cold front will begin to move into the area which will bring with it more seasonal temperatures.
