The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) is investigating an alleged incident involving an off-duty RCMP officer.
According to the IIU the RCMP received a complaint against one of its officers on December 6, 2019. The complainant alleged the officer committed an assault while off-duty on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
Even though the alleged incident did not involve a serious injury IIU civilian director Zane Tessler has determined that it is in the public interest to conduct an investigation.
