21 cases of COVID-19 announced Saturday, 10 in Winnipeg

Manitoba Public Health announced there were 21 new cases of the virus on Saturday, September 5, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed cases stands at 1,294.

The five-day test positivity rate in Manitoba ia 1.4 per cent

Four of the new cases are in the Prairie Mountain Health region, four new case in the Southern Health region, three new cases in Interlake-Eastern health region and 10 cases in the Winnipeg Health region.

There are 13 people being treated in hospital including two people in intensive care.

There are currently 426 active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 852 people listed as recovered.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 is 16.

1,494 laboratory tests were completed on Friday. According to Manitoba Public Health, the total number of completed tests since early February is 144,212.

Public health noted that a previously announced case in a health-care worker is linked to Concordia Place personal care home in Winnipeg.

Concordia Place has instituted additional measures to ensure the safety of residents and staff. The risk level at the PCH has moved to critical (RED) under the Pandemic Response System.
