WRHA CEO announces retirement

The CEO of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Réal Cloutier, has announced his retirement.

After only 2 1/2 years at the helm of the WRHA and more than 30 years in health care administration Cloutier said it was time to spend time with family.

“With the largest elements of change within our Winnipeg region now compete, I feel this is the right time for me to step away to spend more time with my family and enjoy my life outside the office,” Cloutier said.

Cloutier has been with the WRHA since its inception in 1997.

“We are very grateful for the enormous contribution Réal has made throughout the course of his career, and in particular through the last two years. We wish him all the very best in his retirement,” said Karen Dunlop, chair of the WRHA Board of Directors.

Cloutier will remain in his position until an interim president and CEO can be found and put in place.
