Two additional cases brings COVID-19 provincial total to 257

Manitoba Public Health announced on Wednesday April 22, 2020, that two additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the province bringing the total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases to 257

The number of fatalities related to the virus remains at six

Seven people are currently being treated in hospital with three receiving treatment in intensive care.

Public health says that 154 people have been listed as recovered. There are currently 97 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba.

Cadham Provincial Laboratory ran 440 tests on Tuesday. The total number of tests performed for COVID-10 since early February is 21,601.

The criteria for COVID-19 testing has expanded to include anyone who works in a business that was not ordered to close as part of the current public health orders.

Health officials say that it is important for people who meet the testing criteria and are showing even mild symptoms, including a cough, a runny nose, a sore throat and a fever , to be tested to better determine the spread of the virus.
