No new cases of COVID-19, probable cases drop by one

No new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Manitoba on Thursday, May 14, 2020.  One probable case related to the cluster in western Manitoba has turned out to be negative reducing the total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases to 289.

Four people are currently being treated in hospital for the virus with one patient in intensive care.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba remains at Seven.

252 people have recovered from the virus with 30 cases still listed as active.

306 tests for COVID-19 were performed on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 32,244

Testing criteria now includes all symptomatic Manitobans. Anyone showing flu or cold-like symptoms can go to any of the testing sites in the province without an appointment.

Manitoba Public Health reminds residents that travel from southern Manitoba to Northern Manitoba (above the 53rd parallel) is not permitted this includes going to cottages or campgrounds.

Officials are also advising Manitobans to remain in or close to their home communities and to limit travel to essential trips only.
