RCMP say that 84-year-old Mary Byman has been safely located.
The senior went missing on Wednesday July 24, 2109, in the Spur Woods area about 3 miles east of Menisino, Manitoba.
Police said at the time the woman was picking berries with a friend when they got separated around 4:00 pm.
On Sunday July 28, 2019, a group of searchers were in the area fired a gunshot in the air and then heard a faint cry for help. A second shot was fired and again a cry for help was heard. It took another 40 minutes before searchers were able to locate Mary in very thick bush.
Rescuers from the RMs of Piney, Sprague and Woodbridge fire departments spent more than two hours clearing a path to reach the senior. It took about two more hours to get her out of the woods.
Byman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
