The body of a 23-year-old female missing from Island Lake since May 18, 2019 washed ashore near St. Teresa Point First Nation on Saturday June 1, 2019.
RCMP say they were told about the missing community member around 5:00 pm on Friday, May 31, 2019 and began to investigate.
The woman’s body was found just before 9:00 pm.
Investigators have not released the name of the deceased.
Police say an autopsy was performed and the initial results indicate the death is not suspicious.
RCMP continue to investigate.
