Major Drug Bust at Winnipeg Airport: Two Arrested

Winnipeg Police Service’s Organized Crime Unit (OCU), in collaboration with the Brandon Police Service, has dismantled a major drug trafficking network operating in Winnipeg and Brandon, Manitoba. The investigation, which began in the spring of 2024, culminated in the arrest of two individuals on May 11, 2024, at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.

The suspects, Rosemary Amanda Ogoms (32) and Jayde Renee King (30), both residents of Winnipeg, were apprehended shortly after disembarking from a domestic flight. A thorough search of their luggage led to the discovery of 24 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $2.4 million.

Ogoms and King have been charged for their alleged involvement with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine. Following their arrest, both individuals were released on undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
