On Friday, May 1, 2020, the City of Winnipeg announced that they would be cancelling the annual water meter reading program for 2020.
Officials say that due to COVID-19 and out of concern for the safety of customers water meter readers will not be visiting homes this summer.
Residents will be required to take a reading and submit it. A card is being sent to all homeowners explaining how to submit their meter readings online or by phone.
At least one accurate meter reading is required per year from each residence but customers are encouraged to submit reading four times a year to avoid estimated bills.
