Two dead and two were seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover

Selkirk RCMP is investigating a single-vehicle rollover that claimed the life of two people and sent two others to hospital with serious injuries.

The collision happened around 11:00 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2023, on Henderson Highway (PR 204) approximately six kilometres north of Highway 44, in the RM of St. Clements.

Police say that the vehicle, with four people inside, was northbound when the driver lost control and the vehicle entered the ditch, rolled and collided with a utility pole.

The 18-year-old male driver from the RM of St. Clements and an, 18-year-old female passenger from Tyndall, were pronounced dead at the scene. The two other occupants, a 17-year-old male and 15-year-old female, were both transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe that speed played a factor in the collision.

RCMP continue to investigate.
