95 new COVID-19 cases identified, four additional deaths

95 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province today. One case has been removed due to data corrections the net-new case total is 94. Four more people died from the virus.

Those who died from COVID-19 are identified as:

  • a female in her 70s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region;
  • a male in his 70s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region;
  • a female in her 70s from the Winnipeg health region; and
  • a male in his 90s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Concordia Place Personal Care Home.

The five-day test positivity rate is currently 9.6 per cent provincially and 6.1 per cent in Winnipeg.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 28,996.

Today’s cases are from the following health regions:

  • two cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
  • 43 cases in the Northern health region;
  • three cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
  • three cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
  • 44 cases in the Winnipeg health region.

There are currently 3,456 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 24,727 people listed as recovered.

281 people are being treated in the hospital of which 127 are considered infectious. 36 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 24 of them still considered infectious.

813 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.

1,576 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 469,361 tests completed.

Outbreaks have been declared over at the Milner Ridge Correctional Centre in Beausejour, Headingley Correctional Centre in Headingley, St. Norbert Personal Care Home in Winnipeg and Lions Personal Care Home in Winnipeg.
