Male arrested after seminal fluid found on kids clothing

A 22-year-old University of Manitoba student was arrested on Saturday July 27, 2019 after an investigation by Winnipeg Police Child Abuse Unit.

Investigators say that between January and May, 2019 five incidents took place where the accused allegedly took clothing from unsecured lockers within the Frank Kennedy / Active Living Centre. He would then deposit seminal fluid on the clothing and return it to the locker. The clothing belonged to children between five and eleven.

Police say they were alerted to the incidents after the children’s parents noticed the substance on the clothing.

With help from the University of Manitoba Security Services Department a suspect was identified. Police also used DNA to confirm the suspect’s identity.

Christopher Simba Yannick Buckeridge from Winnipeg is facing charges of Mischief Under $5,000/obstruct enjoyment (x5) and Theft Under $5,000 (x5).

He was released on a recognizance.
