100 new cases of COVID-19 and one death reported Saturday

100 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province today. One additional deaths reported due to the virus.

The person who died from COVID-19 is identified as:

  • a male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region.

The five-day test positivity rate is currently 5.0 per cent provincially and 3.8 per cent in Winnipeg.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 30,687.

Today’s cases are from the following health regions:

  • two cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
  • 39 cases in the Northern health region;
  • three cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
  • 20 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
  • 44 cases in the Winnipeg health region.

There are currently 1,628 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 28,193 people listed as recovered.

230 people are being treated in the hospital of which 86 are considered infectious. 28 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 11 of them still considered infectious.

866 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.Due to a data correction, one death that had been reported earlier has been removed.

1,560 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 499,259 tests completed.

An outbreak has been declared at Red River Place Personal Care Home in Selkirk.
