As the fire raged on the intensity of the flames and the wind extended the blaze to a neighbouring home also under construction as well as an occupied home.

Residents of the home had safely self-evacuated before emergency crews arrived.

The fire was declared under control at 10:45 pm but emergency crews spent nearly two hours battling the fires and knocking down hotspots.

Both buildings under construction suffered significant damage from flames, smoke and water. They are considered complete losses. The other home suffered moderate smoke and fire damage.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
