Just after 2pm a fire was set outside the Winnipeg Law Courts building on York and Kennedy. No Injuries reported.
Winnipeg Police Service Public Information Officer, Rob Carver says that a small explosion detonated outside the Law Courts building on York. The explosion was proceeded by a small fire. One person was taken to hospital as a precaution but did not have any obvious injuries.
Winnipeg Bomb Unit is on scene and is expected to be there for hours as they investigate the origins of the explosive device.
Staff and members of the public who were in the Law Courts at the time of the explosion were not permitted to leave as a safety precaution.
