126 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths announced

126 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province today. One case has been removed due to a data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 125. Three more people died from the virus.

Those who died from COVID-19 are identified as:

  • a female in her 70s from the Winnipeg health region;
  • a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region; and
  • a female in her 90s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region, linked to the outbreak at Heritage Life Personal Care Home.

The five-day test positivity rate is currently 6.9 per cent provincially and 3.9 per cent in Winnipeg.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 29,651.

Today’s cases are from the following health regions:

  • 24 cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
  • 55 cases in the Northern health region;
  • seven cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
  • eight cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
  • 32 cases in the Winnipeg health region.

There are currently 3,358 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 25,655 people listed as recovered.

260 people are being treated in the hospital of which 105 are considered infectious. 34 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 22 of them still considered infectious.

835 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.

1,833 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 482,110 tests completed.

Outbreaks have been declared over at Lions Prairie Manor Personal Care Home in Portage la Prairie and Actionmarguerite St. Joseph and Park Manor Personal Care Home, both in Winnipeg.
