Major Drug Bust in Winnipeg’s Central Park Neighbourhood

In a significant blow to drug trafficking in the Central Park neighbourhood, the Winnipeg Police Service has arrested two individuals and seized a large quantity of drugs and weapons. The operation was initiated in June 2024, following concerns raised by community members.

Officers from the Central District General Patrol identified several suspects and a related apartment in the 300 block of Kennedy Street. A search warrant was subsequently obtained.

On the evening of June 20, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, executed the search warrant. Two occupants, an adult male and an adult female, were arrested without incident.

The search resulted in the seizure of a 9mm handgun with two loaded prohibited magazines, various ammunition, approximately 3 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $124,000, approximately 240 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of $132,000, and approximately 700 grams of cutting agent. Officers also seized brass knuckles, a canister of bear spray repellant, a machete, soft body armour, multiple cellular phones, contaminated scales, and approximately $6,400 in Canadian currency.

Jordan Evan James PRINCE, 35, of Winnipeg, is facing multiple charges for his alleged involvement, including possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a firearm, restricted/prohibited weapon or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (4 counts), possession of a weapon (2 counts), unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon (2 counts), possession of body armour without a valid permit or in a manner inconsistent with the valid permit, possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He has been detained in custody.

A 31-year-old female, whose name has not been released, is facing two charges of possession of a scheduled substance and one charge of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000. She has been released via an Appearance Notice.
