YOUTH SENTENCED IN BRUTAL BASEBALL BAT ATTACK IN SELKIRK

A judge has sentenced one of the three teens involved in the brutal attack on two support workers in Selkirk last year.

On Friday June 9, 2017 a 17 year old youth was sentenced, after he had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery, to nine months. Six months will be in open custody and the remaining three will be served in the community under supervision. Prior to the attack he had no previous record.

As part of his sentence a number of conditions were put in place including no alcohol or drug use, cannot possess any weapons and must follow a curfew. The court also said that the youth must submit a DNA sample and not have any contact with either the victims or the two other people accused of the assault.
