Youth rob beer vendor, stab employees

Two youth are in custody after it is alleged they robbed a beer vendor in the Garden City area of Winnipeg and one of the pair stabbed two employees.

It happened around 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Beer Store in the 2100 block of McPhillips Street.

Police say three youth entered the store and attempted to steal alcohol. Employees intervened and a struggle with one of the youth ensued. At some point during the struggle, the employees were stabbed. They were able to hold the youth until police arrived and then were taken to hospital to be treated. Both employees have since been released.

The second male and a female were located by police early Monday, April 23, 2018.

A 13-year-old male is facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Possession of a weapon and Fail to comply with Sentence (x2).

A 17-year-old male  was charged with theft under $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Sentence (x2)

and the 13 -year-old-female was charged with Theft under $5,000.

The 13 and 17-year-old males were detained. The female was released on a promise to appear.

 

A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

– Theft under $5,000
– Fail to Comply with Sentence (x2)

They were detained in custody.

A 14-year-old female of Winnipeg has been charged with:

CC 334(b) Theft under $5,000

She was released on an Appearance Notice.
