UPDATED

Winnipeg Police Service is investigating the stabbing death of a female youth in the 200 block of Graham Avenue on Friday, December 15, 2023.

According to police, the stabbing happened around 1:00 p.m.. Officers rushed to the scene just one block away from Police headquarters and found the victim suffering from stab wounds. The officers provided emergency medical care including the use of a chest seal as they waited for paramedics to arrive.

The 14-year-old victim was taken to hospital in critical condition. She underwent emergency surgery but did not survive he injuries.

Police say that the suspect fled before officers arrived on the scene and no arrests have been made.
