Shots fired into Selkirk home, teen arrested

A 17-year-old male is facing charges after a home was shot at in Selkirk early this morning, December 19, 2019.

Police say that just after midnight they responded to reports of shots fired on Morris Avenue.

When they arrived on scene officers learned that several shots had been fired through the front window of the home. Two adults and two children were in the residence at the time of the shooting.

Police conducted a search of the area and quickly found the suspect a few blocks away. He was arrested. When officers searched him they found a handgun.

The suspect has been detained in custody and is facing a number of charges for his alleged involvement including Discharge Firearm with Intent x 2, Careless Use of Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The investigation is continuing
