Youth charged in bus shelter stabbing

Police have arrested and charged a 16-year-old female for allegedly stabbing a male in his forties inside a bus shelter on Friday evening, December 10, 2021.

Police say that two youth and the victim got into a heated argument in a bus shelter in the Frasers Grove neighbourhood that escalated to the point that one of the youth stabbed the male. The youths then left on a bus.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Officers located the suspect on a bus at Portage Avenue and Dominion Street and took her into custody.

The accused has been charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm and Possession of a Weapon. She was released on an appearance notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
