Verbal argument turns violent
Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old male youth after he allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old male.
The incident happened early Saturday morning on August 19, 2017, in the 1300 block of Raleigh Street.
Police had received a report of a stabbing just before 1:30 am. When they arrived they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Investigators have learned that the victim and the suspect had been at a party in the area when a verbal dispute erupted. The argument esclated and that is when the victim was assaulted by the suspect.
Around 7:30 pm officers located the suspect at a home in the same block of Raleigh and took him into custody.
The 15-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.
He was detained in custody.
