Around 5:15 am on Wednesday June 1, Winnipeg Police received multiple reports of break-ins in the 400 block of Montague Avenue. Police were flagged down by a resident in the area of Osborne Street and McNaughton Avenue, while they were responding to the calls, who advised that his home had just been broken into by two male suspects. After a brief search, police located one suspect in the area.
A 15-year-old male youth was arrested. He has been linked to numerous break-ins in the area, as well as several historical break-ins.
He faces the following charges:
– Break Enter and Theft x 11
– Fail to Comply conditions of Undertaking x 2
– Mischief under $5,000
– Theft under $5,000
– Identity Theft
He has been remanded into custody.
Investigators have recovered a number of items believed to have been stolen from the area. Victims of recent residential or garage break-ins in the South Osborne area may contact investigators if they wish to make inquiries regarding possible recovered property.
