Youth charged with armed robbery of Liquor store

Three youth are facing Armed Robbery using a firearm after the trio knocked over a liquor store in Winnipeg Thursday night, September 13, 2018.

Police say that at about 8:30 pm three males entered the Manitoba Liquor Mart in the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue. One of the suspects grabbed two bottles and ran towards the exit. A second suspect pulled out a silver handgun and pointed towards employees.

The three suspects took off but were located by police soon afterwards in the 100 block of Mapleglen Drive.

 

 

The suspects were in possession of the liquor and officers found an imitation handgun during a search.

The suspects aged 14, 15 and 17 remain in custody.

The 14-year-old male has been charged with:

  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Fail to Comply with Sentence X2
  • Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

The 15-year-old male is facing a charge of Armed Robbery using a Firearm.

The 17-year-old male has been charged with:

  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Possess Firearm, Restricted/prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Fail to Comply with Sentence
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2

No one was injured during the robbery.
