Police say death of woman found at recycling centre not a homicide

Winnipeg Police say that the death of 33-year-old Mary Madeline Yellowback was not a homicide.

On September 28, 2018, police found Yellowback’s body at a recycling depot on Omand Creek Boulevard. At the time of the discovery, homicide detectives were calling the death suspicious.

Police said that they believed the body had been moved to the recycling centre from a different location.

As the investigation unfolded police released security footage of Yellowback in the downtown area the night before she died and requested help in putting together where she had been.

Police have not released the cause of death or details of the investigation that concluded the death was not a homicide.
