Worker rescued from bottom of construction site

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Technical Rescue Task Force were call in to rescue a construction worker found at the bottom of an excavated construction site on Girton Boulevard on Tuesday March 9, 2021.

The highly trained rescue firefighters were able to secure the injured worker into a rescue basket, then using a rope system tied to an aerial ladder truck hoist the patient to waiting paramedics.

The patient was then assessed on the scene, treat and taken to hospital in stable condition.

Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety are investigating the incident.
