RCMP in Poplar River have arrested and charged a 54-year-old male driver after he allegedly drove his vehicle into a bench with two people sitting on it.
The collision happened around 1:20 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022, in front of the Northern Store.
A 59-year-old woman was killed and an 18-year of female suffered non-life-threating injuries.
Edwin Wesley was charged for his alleged involvement with Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death. Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm, Criminal Negligence Causing Death and Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm.
Wesley will appear in court on October 3, 2022 to answer to the charges.
