A 26-year-old man is facing more than a dozen charges in connection to a woman being shot in the 200 block of McDermot Avenue on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
Police say that they were called to the area outside a popular lounge around 2:30 a.m. and located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was taken to hospital in unstable condition but later upgraded to stable.
Investigators say that an altercation took place between a group of people and when the victim stepped in she was shot.
Police identified a suspect and a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 200 block of Stradbrook Avenue. As a result of the investigation one person was taken into custody and a significant amount of drugs and cash were seized. Officers also seized drug packaging materials and four magazines that contained live ammunition.

- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x3
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Ecstasy
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Psilocybin
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Poss is Unauthorized
