A 20-year-old woman is recovering from upper-body injuries after she was physically and sexually assaulted outside the law courts building on Kennedy Street early Friday morning, March 17, 2023.
According to Winnipeg Police Service, the victim was walking southbound along Kennedy Street towards the Law Courts Building around 5:45 am when a male began to follow her. As she reached the Kennedy Street entrance to the courts she was assaulted by the man, fell to the sidewalk and was then touched on her lower body. The suspect fled the area before police arrived.
The suspect has been described as between 20 to 30 years old and standing approximately 5’9″ tall. He has a larger build with long dark hair. He was wearing a black jacket.
