Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit is investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted in the first 100 block of Tecumseh Street on August 14, 2023.
Police say the victim was walking westbound on McDermot Avenue when she spotted a man following her. as she headed southbound on Tecumseh Street the male approached rom behind and touched the victim in an inappropriate sexual manner.
The victim was not physically injured during the assault.
The suspect is described as a black male with an average build. He stood approximately 5’4″ tall with short dreadlocks.
Investigators advise people to be aware of their surroundings and exercise personal safety while they are in the William Avenue, Arlington Street, Notre Dame Avenue, and Sherbrook Street areas.
The investigation continues.
